N4m Loan for Agric Businesses to All Graduates: MOUAU Vice-Chancellor – Prof. Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, marks his first 100 days in office during his chat with Journalists. There he mentioned that the loan scheme was launched for the production of self-sufficient graduate farmers.

Also, he opened the discussion that the loan scheme that was initiated by the MEC (MOUAU Extension Center) loan plan had stalled and gone into a coma owing to a lack of funding a few years after it was established. However, it was collected & funded by his official administration.

According to the Vice-Chancellor of MOUAU;

“Immediately I was pronounced the VC, I set my mind on opening up the university’s vast land for farming purposes and reached out to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) and requested assistance to enable us to open up farms by clearing 400 hectares of land.”

N4m Loan for Agric Businesses to All Graduates: furthermore, the VC – MOUAU listed financial constraints as the main challenge that delays the disbursement. In addition, he said that they have also started exploring fund source alternatives. Meanwhile, they are waiting to receive the funds from the Federal Government.
